Our initiatives are designed with the community’s specific needs in mind, ensuring that every effort contributes to building resilience and fostering growth. Our Key Programs

Integrated Health

CINA implements Integrated Community-based Health Care through provision of lifesaving interventions such as; Integrated Essential Child Health Care including immunization, vitamin A supplementation and deworming, promotion of adequate infant and young children feeding and caring behaviors and use of long lasting insecticides treated nets (LLITNs); Maternal health services including Emergency Obstetrics and Neonatal Care (EmONC) at village level, antenatal care (including home-based lifesaving skills and intermittent preventative treatment, skilled delivery, postnatal care and family planning; Basic Curative Services including management of local endemic diseases (e.g. malaria, acute respiratory infections), community based prevention and care for common injuries and rehabilitation, address visual, oral and mental health and treatment of survivors of gender based violence. The project will also deliver a full package of health promotion and diseases prevention including COVID-19, targeting IDPs and host communities in Twic East and Duk Counties. The health strategy also supports County Health Departments (CHDs) through travel to health facilities for joint supervision and support visits as well as for planning, coordination, monitoring and reporting.

Integrated Protection

CINA promotes integrated child protection interventions such as provision of Family Tracing and Reunification (FTR) services, Youth and adolescent programmes for talent development and empowerment, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) for children, adolescents and caregivers, provision of awareness raising and safety briefing on Explosive Ordnance Risks Education (EORE), prevention and response to GBV against children, women and men, reintegration of children released by armed forces/groups and children in conflict with law. Also working heavily in providing integrated general protection case management through Individual Protection Assistance for Persons with Specific needs, integrated protection monitoring and assessments, protection analyses and advocacy on rights violations and violence against children and women. Supporting housing, Land and Property Services through establishment, empowerment and training of Information Assistance Desks (IADs), Alternative Disputes and Resolution Mechanisms and provision of HLP Case Management and legal aids.

Integrated Education

Promote and support universal primary education for children affected by conflicts and disasters through construction and renovation of ECDs, Primary Schools, Secondary Schools infrastructure, WASH facilities for schools, Pastoralist Education Program (PEP), Caregiver Groups, Support to Young Mothers, Capacity building for Education Managers at State level (County Education Director, Payam Education Supervisors, Head teachers, etc.) Cash Transfers for Girls, Schools Capitation Grants, Public Finance Management for Education departments, Education mobilization, awareness and campaigns, research and data management for school children Teacher professional development and quality education, school governance for PTA/SMC development, food for education (school feeding program); alternative learning programs for youth and women; as well as supporting non-formal education through Technical Vocational and Education Training (TVET) for youth and families. To safeguard against child abuse and exploitation in schools, CINA supports adherence to school child safeguarding policy and integration of life skills development for adolescents, mental psychosocial support and child protection help desks into education program.

Integrated FSL

CINA aims on improving food production and productivity through transfer of sustainable agricultural practices and technologies and increased and Diversified Income for youth and women through improved livestock production through provision of animal health services and improved access to animal resources, increased Crop production access to quality inputs and adoption of improved agricultural practices, enhanced access to financial services by vulnerable youth, women and men in support of income generation, improved access to value chain, appropriate post-harvest and processing technologies. Furthermore, CINA also focuses on preventing malnutrition through emergency food distribution, diseases prevention, and behavior change communication to pregnant/lactating mothers and families affected by conflicts and disasters. Respond to acute malnutrition through running of community therapeutic feeding programs and stabilization centers for malnourished children. Support agricultural food production and livelihood resilience for self-reliance through provision of seeds, farm tools, building of farmers’ capacity (demos farms), development of community livelihood initiatives such as ‘Village Banks’ (village savings & loans associations), food processing, fish processing, beekeeping, milk processing, hides & skins processing, as well as supporting farmers’ groups, training of community animal health workers, vaccination of cattle, and preposition of fuel, food storage facilities, linkages to markets and provision of food for assets.
